Safe (Gnosis) airdrop – 50 million tokens to be distributed to Ethereum wallets

by Thomas

The Gnosis Safe multi-signature wallet has confirmed that it wants to conduct an airdrop. The proposal has been submitted to the community, it is expected to distribute 50 million SAFE tokens.

Safe token launch

As a reminder, Gnosis Safe has recently spun off from Gnosis, and now wants to brand itself as Safe. The process is accompanied by the launch of a token, the SAFE, which will be distributed to users via an airdrop.

The distribution of the SAFE token is broken down as follows: 60% will go to the Community Treasury, 15% will be allocated to Core Contributors, 15% to the Safe Foundation. The remaining 10% will be distributed for the ecosystem, and for users:

Safe teams cite several objectives, including decentralisation, incentive rewards for the most active users, and a means of promoting the project.

Gnosis Safe’s Airdrop: who is eligible?

It is of course Safe users who will be eligible for this airdrop. They will have to have created their address before 9 February 2022, the date on which the Safe DAO proposal was made. The addresses will also have to have registered at least two shares, or stored 10 ETH over their period of existence. In total, at least 400 SAFE tokens will be sent to 21,935 addresses.

The proposal further explains that the project wants to focus on the development of the DAO, with the idea of empowering the community as much as possible:

“In the long term, we see Safe as a community-driven project. This gives power back to [users] to own part of the product they use. “

Safe seems to have been making progress in recent months. The project had raised $100 million in July, when it was renamed. Moreover, the integration of the Avalanche blockchain (AVAX) at the end of 2021 had allowed the multisig wallet to reach a larger part of the ecosystem.
