New use cases for Telegram with the TON Coin
On Sunday, Telegram officially opened up TON Coin ad revenue sharing to content creators with at least 1,000 subscribers, thanks to a 50% payout. This feature, which was introduced last month, is also accompanied by another new feature: in-app purchases in TON tokens.
More specifically, advertisements can be paid for using this cryptocurrency. This new type of advertisement can be customized as desired:
Anyone can now promote their bot or channel, with budgets as low as a handful of Toncoins. When creating a Telegram ad, you choose the exact channels you want it to appear on, so you have total control over their context.
In addition, Telegram specifies that unlike other social networks, these ads only appear on major public channels.
Alongside this announcement, the application is also adding new features to its professional account, enabling better tracking of its audience statistics.
